Student stopped with stolen barricade

3:10 p.m.
The Department of Public Safety was contacted in reference to a damaged chair.
A custodian reported a cut in a seat cushion in the break room of Ummel Technology building.
The cut was approximately five inches long.
Theft

1:00 p.m.
A student contacted DPS in reference to a theft.
The theft occurred in Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
A student said his wallet had been stolen during a game of racquetball.
The student said he had left his wallet in his pants outside the court on a bench.
The officer on the scene advised the student to contact the Joplin Police Department.
Fire Alarm

1:41 p.m.
Two DPS officers responded to a general fire alarm in Leggett & Platt Athletic Center. Upon arrival, the officers determined the fire alarm had been caused by a faulty air handler duct detector.
The alarm was then reset.

1:45 a.m.
The Webb City Police Department contacted DPS after stopping a student with a Missouri Southern barricade in his vehicle.
The WCPD said the student said the barricade had been issued to him by the University to help with parking and stealing charges could be filed.
The DPS said the University does not provide this function and said it would await the return of the barricade.
The barricade was later returned while DPS officers were on patrol.
