Soccer loses two games in SW conference

Losing both games, the Missouri Southern men’s soccer team played twice last weekend.

During the game Sept. 16 against St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, the Lions lost 2-1 with the only Southern goal being scored by sophomore forward Evan Keeling in the 5th minute.

Keeling had two shots and two on goal.

Junior midfielder Seth Creed had two shots during the game.

The Lions competed against the University of the Incarnate Word Sept. 18 and lost 4-1.

Sophomore forward Alain Njoume scored the goal for Southern in the 37th minute.

Keeling had three shots. Junior goalkeeper Travis Haight had four saves during the game.

The Lions are 2-7-0 overall and 0-5-0 in the Southwest Soccer Conference.

The team’s next game is away on Friday against Eastern New Mexico University. On Sunday, they will travel to West Texas A&M University, and on Wednesday to John Brown University in Arkansas.
