Broken safety window found on top of Spiva

The Department of Public Safety was contacted in reference to stolen bicycle. A student reported her bicycle had been in the bike rack near the Billingsly Student Center. However, she had not seen the bicycle since then. She estimated the value at $100.

Injured Person

1:10 p.m.

While walking along the fence near Fred Hughes Stadium, a DPS officer found a person lying on the ground. The person stated she had stepped into a hole near the fence and twisted her right ankle. She said it was painful to touch and might be fractured. She had arranged for another person to pick her up so no ambulance was called.

A DPS officer was contacted in reference to a fuel leak from a vehicle near the residence halls. The owner of the vehicle said he had thought something occurred to the vehicle after going over a railroad track. The Joplin Fire Department was called to prevent any fires. Sawdust was applied to the fuel on the ground. The leak was contained and the vehicle was towed.

Maintenance informed a DPS officer about a damaged window on the Spiva Library. A maintenance worker had found a broken safety glass window on the top floor of the building which leads to the roof. The officer inspected the window.
