The Ichabods of Washburn, coming off of an impressive victory over the resurgent Lions, will be visiting in-state foe Emporia State tomorrow.

The key for Washburn will be shutting down Hornets quarterback Andre Sloan El. Sloan El has proven to be a one-man show on the Emporia offense this season. This shouldn’t be a problem for Washburn, which got huge production out of defensive back Cary Williams last week. Williams started his showcase on offense in the first quarter by catching a 68-yard touchdown pass. He continued on special teams with a 100-yard kickoff return for a score. And he put the finishing touches on the game by picking off a late Adam Hinspeter pass in the end zone to ice the game for the Ichabods.

Williams was the MIAA special teams player of the week.
