Ft. Hays vs. MSSU

It is Homecoming Week on the campus of Missouri Southern, and the Fort Hays State Tigers are looking to crash the party.

The Lions lost a heartbreaker in Topeka last week 26-20. They will be looking to bounce back before their toughest stretch of the season. After this game they travel to Central, to Western, they then host Truman, before traveling to Northwest. That is four straight games, three on the road, against teams with winning records.

The key for the Lions will be the running game. Fort Hays State has the best run defense in the MIAA. The good news for quarterback Adam Hinspeter is that the Tigers boast the league’s worst pass defense, the bad news for Hinspeter is that they line up the MIAA’s premier pass rusher in defensive end Jason Hill.

The Lions defense should have no problem with this offense. Fort Hays has yet to decide on a full-time quarterback and are led offensively by a runner who averages a mere 75 yards a game.

Look for the Lions at home to beat the Tigers by more than 14.
