Literary Lions take on Mockingbird

This semester, the Literary Lions Book Club will be discussing To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. In 1961, the novel won the Pulitzer Prize. Literary Lions is looking for members to participate in these discussions.

To Kill a Mockingbird is a successful novel that has been translated into more than 35 languages, and has also been filmed into a movie.

Moderating these events are the Director of the Spiva Library, Wendy McGrane,, and MSSU English and Philosophy faculty member, Dr. Jude Meche. Meche will also lead the discussions at these meetings.

The Literary Lions Book Club meetings will be held by University Java coffee shop at MSSU. At 6:30 p.m. on Mar. 13 the group will discuss the life of Harper Lee. At 6:30 p.m. on Mar. 27 the group will discuss the novel, and at 6:30 p.m. on Apr. 10 the group will watch the film, To Kill a Mockingbird, starring Gregory Peck.

The cost to participate in the event is $25 for the public and $15 for members of the Friends of the Spiva Library. Literary Lions Book Club can only accommodate 15 participants. The copies of the novel will be donated to Spiva Library. Those interested in participating should respond by Mar. 3.
