Campus closed

Finals are canceled and the campus is dark at Missouri Southern.

Students living on campus are being evacuated. Power outages swept across the region Sunday night and into Monday due to heavy ice accumulation on trees and power lines. Southern’s campus is without electricity and closed until further notice, canceling all exams and events scheduled on campus.

The Chart has been unable to reach University officials for comment, but reports indicate that Southern lost power during the night of Dec. 9 at roughly 10 p.m.

There will be no on campus finals. The make-up exam schedule for Friday and Saturday is canceled. Final grades will be based on work completed during the semester.

Once power is restored students will be able to check their final grades online via Lionet. If students wish to petition to take their final exam they can do so during the spring semester.
