Behind 16 first half points from senior guard Erika Souza the Lady Bearcats of Southwest Baptist lead the Central Missouri Jennies by a score of 33-27.The Jennies, who are seeded sixth in the tournament, are led in scoring by Kara Fleming with eight points. Central trails despite beating SBU in the battle on the boards 26-19. Freshman forward Jojuana Jones has already pulled down 16 rebounds in under 20 minutes on the floor. Jones led the MIAA in rebounding during the regular season. Neither team is shooting well, especially Central. The Jennies are 9-30 from the field, just 30%.The good news for Central is that leading scorer Lindsey Maple has yet to get started. She has just three points in the first half. For Central to climb back into the game, Maple will need to be more productive offensively and Fleming will need to start taking better care of the ball as Central seemed careless with the ball at times.The winner of this game will take on Truman State in the semi-final on Saturday.
